We have been doing quite a bit of reflecting over the past few weeks and found ourselves feeling incredibly blessed to be surrounded by the love and the happiness of our couples! In 2013 we photographed a lot of love- that is for sure! ;) And we want to celebrate that love!
We have decided to host our 2nd Annual Facebook Photo Contest! This year it will include a FREE Anniversary Session Giveaway to one of our AMAZING couples that we photographed in 2013! Voting opens at 9:00 AM EST Friday, January 10th (TODAY!)!! You are allowed to vote 1 time per day per Facebook user! So definitely go vote! ;)
For every vote the couple receives on their photo by 11:59 p.m. EST on Saturday, January 18th, they will get 1 entry into the drawing for the Anniversary Session!
Please spread the love and help us giveaway a session to an AMAZING couple by voting and sharing with your family and friends! There is a lot of love in these photos and we want to spread that! ;)
Ahhh! ;) This post just makes my heart happy! ;) It is so much fun to look back on the year and think about all that we have done, everywhere we have been, and all of the AMAZING couples we have met along the way! When we are in the middle of our crazy busy season (which seems to be an ongoing season that really doesn’t end! ;) Grateful for that.), we don’t often take the time to reflect on the craziness! I mean, we don’t take enough time to do it, anyway!
It is not uncommon for Ryan and I to finish a photography session and not only have photos of our AMAZING couples, but also have at least one doozy of a photo of one another! ;) When we are checking our light or scouting out the perfect location, we usually use each other as models! We often capture each other at the moments we least expect and that always results in some super fun ones! And Ryan… ohh Ryan. He likes to photobomb me every once in awhile! ;) He usually is pretty quick and I just capture a blob in front of me. Haha. But every once in awhile I capture his AMAZINGNESS! ;) haha!
As we are doing some reflecting on this absolutely incredible year, we thought it would be super fun to revisit that folder of photos that we store away as “photos of us in action!” We are so truly blessed to do the work that we do and the smiles on our faces definitely shows how much we are in our element while we are on the job! ;) I am so grateful for the these images and the AMAZING reminders of just how happy our hearts are when we are surrounded by AMAZING couples and get to capture their magic with photography!
We hope you enjoy a little sneak peek into the behind the scenes of us in action! ;) And believe me, we are laughing right along with you! ;)
Haha… you could come up with a great caption for this one! ;) Actually, you could probably come up with a great caption for many of these! If you have anything in mind, please do share! We will enjoy the laugh right along with you! ;)
Yep, there is a camera in there! Anything for the shot! ;) And I am pretty sure Ryan was not too upset about what he had to do to get this one from Laura and Richie’s Day After Session!
This is Ryan pretending he is being proposed to as we scouted out the best location for TJ’s surprise proposal to Carol!! ;)
Ok, honestly… lol. I have absolutely no idea what is going on here! ;) All I know is that it was at the very end of the night after Kait and Adam’s AMAZING day… and truthfully, my heart was happy, Kait was admiring her ring, and Adam was quite tired! ;) lol!
We are so blessed by the adventures our couples take us on! ;) Seriously… the variety of our “offices” is just incredible! (Camden Yards, docks in Annapolis and Chesapeake Beach, the waters of the Chesapeake on the Eastern Shore, Rehoboth, Baltimore, NYC, the mountains of PA, Federal Hill, Loyola University, Sherwood Gardens, Washington DC, and the list goes on and on! ;) ) So grateful!
This year we had the AMAZING opportunity of photographing some of our closest friend’s weddings! What a gift for us! Those smiles never left our faces!
Haha… I have no words. ;)
I think I was so excited about Susan’s dress that I just wanted to get as close as possible! ;)
How handsome is he?!? ;)
Ahhh! This is happiness.
Best photobomber ever! ;)
Ahh! So much fun! Please do share those captions, friends! ;)
As we run around making the final preparations for our family and friends to arrive, (you know, cleaning the bathrooms, finishing the laundry, placing fresh flowers around the house, ohh and cooking the turkey too!) we wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU!
This past weekend, Ryan and I were eating our first Thanksgiving dinner of the year at MeMe’s house in PA. We were surrounded by our family and definitely in our happy place! Even though it is often completely crazy… seriously at one point I just stopped to listen and realized that there were about 30 conversations going on at once all in the same room and the volume level was over the top… it is definitely happy and I would not want it any other way!
I was chatting with my Uncle and at one point he said, you sure do meet a whole lot of great people doing what you do, don’t you?! Without hesitation, I said absolutely! We often talk about our Liz and Ryan family that has been created since the start of our business, but I am not sure I have honestly taken the moment to really think about that completely! When we started our business, we were excited about the idea of meeting other couples who were in the same life stage as us. However, we have been blessed beyond imagineable with a whole community of people who make our hearts happy on a daily basis!
This year in particular, I feel like our Liz and Ryan family has grown incredibly and has become closer than ever! Between our couples, their parents, their siblings, their friends, our fellow photographers, our blog readers, our fellow wedding professionals and inspirers… and everyone who has come into our lives through our business, we have one AMAZINGly beautiful Liz and Ryan family! You all have been there to support us in every way and we are so incredibly grateful for you!!
So today, on one of my favorite days of the year… we want to say Thank You to ALL of our family and friends… including ALL OF YOU whom we consider a part of the Liz and Ryan family! As you think about what you are thankful for today, please take a moment and recognize that you are one the many blessings in our lives that we are thanking God for today and everyday! Thank you for making our hearts smile!
Happy Thanksgiving (AND Happy Thanksgivukkah to all of our Jewish friends!) from our hearts to yours!!!
We were in the middle of Portland at a restaurant called Duckfat. Yes, it is as AMAZING as it sounds. Their fries are pretty much out of this world. The tables were full inside, but we didn’t mind taking the opportunity to soak in the Maine air just a little bit longer. We had just completed the AMAZING Life Escape and said our fairwells to the AMAZING couples who surrounded us all week.
Our emotions were all over the place. We were excited, refreshed and feeling more in love than ever! However, at the same time, we were feeling physically exhausted and not quite ready to jump into the swing of things! We had just spent a few days unplugged and could only imagine how many emails were facing us in our inbox. I was literally avoiding my phone and trying to extend our escape as long as possible! ;) However, Ryan was a little quicker to jump into things. I had just gotten done telling Ryan how much I was not looking forward to even opening our inbox. And then we heard the buzz. An email came in and Ryan decided to take a look. It was as if he knew what was coming and knew I needed to read it.
It was an email from one of our grooms and it literally made me cry. As I sat there eating my duckfat fries, I cried. Lol. The email came in at the exact time I needed to hear it. Seriously, the words that our groom had shared hit me hard. When it is becoming more and more common for us to hear, “ohh my friend with a camera is taking our photos…” or “my uncle is just going to take some shots for us” it is so easy to lose site of just how meaningful our jobs really are.
As I shared in my Note to Engaged Couples a few weeks ago, it breaks our heart knowing that not every couple is going to have photos that they truly love and appreciate. The thought that our groom’s friend has blurry photos and probably won’t be hanging them in their home, makes me sad. However knowing that we are able to provide a service that our couples truly enjoy and appreciate now and will enjoy and appreciate for so many years to come is incredibly heart warming! Receiving incredibly thoughtful emails from our AMAZING couples who appreciate us and our work mean so so so much to us.
We decided to remove our groom’s name from the email so that he doesn’t face any awkwardness with his friends… lol. But to this special groom and all of our couples who have shared their love and appreciation with us… you make our hearts smile. (And sometimes bring us to tears… but I promise they are happy tears!) We are so grateful for all of our couples for believing in us and truly valuing and appreciating our services that we are blessed to be able to share!
Over the past few weeks, we have had the opportunity to be able to introduce you to some AMAZING couples that have held a special place in our hearts for quite some time… These couples have been in our lives since before the days that they even started dating! I am feeling extra grateful this morning knowing that we are surrounded by some pretty AMAZING couples and love stories that we have been able to witness since the very beginning! ;) How special is that?!?
Katie and Travis are no different! ;) We have known Katie and Travis since the very first day they met each other at Bucknell University! I just happened to be lucky enough to be their RA on Smith 2C… the place they called home for their first year at Bucknell! Ahh! So much fun to think about! I am not sure they realized it at that point, but I am pretty sure everyone around them knew pretty quickly eventually they would get married!
Nine years later! And it is officially happening! ;) It is so much fun to see them together now… their love has grown stronger and their friendship exudes happiness in such a special way! (Even more so than those days on 2C… and I am not sure I thought that was possible!)
Katie and Travis, we could not be happier for you two! Seriously, our hearts are so happy seeing you together and being able to capture this AMAZING time in your lives!! Thank you for making us a part of it! It means the world to us!
Yes, that is a smiley face that just happened to appear after Travis finished his beer. If that isn’t a sign of happiness, I am not sure what is?!? ;) We had such a blast exploring some of Katie and Travis’s favorite spots for their Baltimore Engagement Session! Camden Yards, Fell’s Point and Max’s Taphouse! Pretty awesome, right?!
