A few months ago we had the incredible honor of photographing the moment Samij proposed to Stephanie. You may remember it… at Sherwood Gardens when the tulips were in full bloom! A few days ago we met up with Stephanie and Samij during the wee hours of the morning for a Baltimore Federal Hill Engagement Session. An evening full of rain the night before made for some foggy skies that were dreamy! It was so much fun to start our day off exploring Federal Hill with Stephanie and Samij! Hearing all about their upcoming wedding was so much fun!!
Their wedding day is quickly approaching and with two very busy work and med school schedules, Stephanie and Samij don’t get much time to just be and explore new places together! Since Stephanie goes to school in the city, they rarely come in just to hang out! So it was super fun to walk around Federal Hill with them and just have a fun morning on the town! ;) We may have even finished off the morning with breakfast at our favorite cafe, Spoons! ;) What a special treat!

Over the past 24 hours, with tired eyes and crazy full hearts, we have been trying to process the AMAZINGness that was the AMAZING Life Escape! ;) The past week away in Maine was incredible. Absolutely everything that we dreamed it could be and so much more! We do have so much to share and a lot more processing to do… stay tuned for that goodness to come! But first… we have a pretty AMAZING engagement session that we are super SUPER excited to share with you and we are pretty sure you will not want to miss it!!! On our way up to the AMAZING Life Escape, we made a pit stop in the Hamptons! ;) Yes, The Hamptons. We were pretty much jumping up and down with excitement when Erin and Scott mentioned the idea of a Hamptons engagement session. We had never been up that way and we were super excited to have the excuse to go explore.
Erin and Scott live in NYC… so the Hamptons have become a great getaway when they need to escape the hustle and bustle or just want to soak in the gorgeousness of nature. The fall leaves were definitely at their peak and provided a gorgeous landscape that made us want to stay for days! ;) Between the water, the leaves, the cute town of Sag Harbor, the firepit on the beach with s’mores!!!, and a Bucknell couple with hearts so happy it makes our hearts happy… this definitely goes down as an engagement session we will never forget!
Erin and Scott… thank you for showing us around the Hamptons! We had such a blast exploring with you!!! It is so so so AMAZING to see your hearts so happy!! We could not be more excited to share in this special time of your lives!!!
There is nothing quite like an afternoon in DC on a beautiful fall day! Before Kim and Jay’s DC engagement session, we decided to take some time to just be. We were traveling from PA after Susan and Freddie’s wedding and instead of driving back to Baltimore first, we went directly to DC. We always talk about how we need to go explore DC more often, so that day was the perfect opportunity.
We pulled up on Constitution Ave., took the first parking spot we came to, grabbed the blanket in the back of our car, and had an impromptu relaxing afternoon next to the Washington Monument. As we relaxed, we took in the sites and sounds around us. We realized that literally the world was surrounding us. There were hundreds of people who probably traveled from afar to take in the beauty of the city right along with us. In a field among the monuments, we saw a group of people playing ultimate frisbee. They were going about their daily lives and playing ultimate frisbee right next to the place that millions of people travel to just to soak in the surroundings. It was in that moment that it hit me… we are so blessed to be where we are surrounded by who we are each and every day! Sometimes we get so stuck in our routines that we forget to soak in the beauty that surrounds us!
Kim and Jay’s engagement session was the absolute perfect continuation of our afternoon of soaking it all in! It was a gorgeous fall day in DC and the leaves were just starting to change! We are so excited about their photos because we know that they will always be an incredible reminder of this special life that they are sharing together in the city that they call home. Kim and Jay are so incredibly sweet and so incredibly fun! We loved every single minute of our stroll through DC with them! Kim and Jay- thank you for sharing your city with us and taking a break from the everyday routine to appreciate it in an extra special way! We are so grateful for you!! ;)
I know that most people would call Valentine’s Day & February the season of love… but I am going to start calling the Fall the season of love. Over the past few weeks, we have captured so much love and it has been AMAZING!!! ;) We have been busy photographing engagement sessions hanging out with our couples and getting a glimpse into their lives! What a FUN couple of weeks we have had!
We explored some of our favorite neighborhoods with Sarah and Trevor for their Baltimore Engagement Session. We are a bit partial to Federal Hill, but I think my favorite part of Sarah and Trevor’s engagement session was exploring Harbor East with them. Earlier this year, in February actually! ;), Trevor completely surprised Sarah by proposing to her after a super delicious dinner at Flemings Steak House! It was totally fitting that there was a brisk breeze in the air the day of their engagement session… because it brought them right back to the day of their proposal when it was crazy cold and Trevor invited Sarah out on a walk by the water! ;)
Sarah and Trevor… you two are SO MUCH FUN! We had such a blast exploring Baltimore with you! That special location in Harbor East will now always have an extra special place in our hearts knowing that is where you promised your love to each other! ;) We hope these photos will always remind you of this incredibly AMAZING time in your lives! Susan and Freddie are about as opposite as opposite can be. ;) Susan dreams of glitter and Freddie dreams of camouflage. Susan wears her emotions on her sleeves and Freddie keeps his inside. As different as they are, they embrace each other’s personalities and quirks in a way that I have never witnessed before! It is pretty awesome!
There is one similarity that they do have in common. That is the fact that they would 100% do anything for each other in order to make the other person happy. Their wedding was the perfect example of this! Susan always dreamed of her fairytale wedding… glitter, sparkles, flowers everywhere, a flashmob dance to Thriller ;), etc. Freddie… give him some camo and he is one happy guy! ;) With a dream of an enchanted forest, they brought their visions together and made it happen… all of it! Susan and Freddie’s PA Fall Wedding was absolutely a dream and so incredibly perfect for them!
Susan, when I walked in that room and saw your dress hanging, I literally stopped in my tracks. That moment set the tone for the whole entire day. Everywhere we turned, we knew your dreams were coming true before our eyes! What an incredible blessing for us to be able to capture the wedding day of your dreams where you finally could say I Do to the man of your dreams!

Susan and Freddie’s wedding was such a special one to end our 2013 season with! The wedding professionals that we worked side by side with were so full of passion and excitement for this day! Seriously, when Susan and Freddie walked in the ballroom to see the magic for the first time, all of the wedding professionals gathered around in anticipation to see their reaction. We knew that a lot of heart and soul went into making that day so special, but it was even more clear when we looked around and saw tears in the eyes of the vendors!! Being so passionately invested into our couple’s lives that it brings tears to our eyes is something that is pretty special! That is what this work is all about! Working alongside those professionals who give 120% to their couples is such an incredible gift. Thank you to all of the AMAZING wedding professionals who helped bring Susan and Freddie’s dream wedding to life!
