The Oaks Waterfront Inn Wedding – Molly and Joe

Anticipation and excitement are two perfect ways to describe our emotions on the way to Molly and Joe’s wedding at The Oaks Waterfront Inn on Saturday. To be completely honest, I always feel the butterflies before a wedding… especially the first wedding of the year! It is as if I feel like I am going to forget how to photograph a wedding! haha. After 5 years, I am pretty sure we can be confident that is not going to happen! ;)

This is how it normally works… We walk into the bridal suite and all of the butterflies disappear. Sometimes it takes a few minutes longer than others… haha. But Saturday, it happened immediately. I am not kidding, we walked into the bridal suite and it was like walking into a place of zen. It was quiet, the girls all had their hair and makeup done and they had their feet propped up enjoying every single moment! Ohh my goodness, that is exactly how it should always be! ;) Just soaking it all in!

Starting our wedding season off with Molly and Joe’s wedding at the Oaks was like a dream come true! Molly and Joe are so laid back and so incredibly sweet! Molly and Joe… our hearts are so happy for you! We are honored to have been there to photograph your special day! Can’t wait to see you when you get back from Morocco! ;)

Huge huge huge thanks to the fabulous Caitlin for joining us on Saturday to lend a hand. She was my right hand girl and I could not have done it without her there by my side!… carrying my bag, surprising me with a starburst when I was craving a sweet, and sharing her beautiful smile with us and all of the guests the whole day! She is AMAZING and we are so grateful for her!!

San Francisco Engagement Session | Samantha and Rameez

We are back from our crazy adventures out west for the first part of the AMAZING Life Together Road Trip with hearts so incredibly full. We are still at a little bit of a loss for words to share how incredibly grateful we are for this journey, but thankfully we have tons of photos to help us bring our wordless thoughts to life! ;) Definitely check out the AMAZING Life Together website for more details of our adventure! As we continue to gather our thoughts from the trip, we are going to start by sharing this San Francisco Engagement Session AMAZINGness!!! We are so incredibly excited to introduce you to Samantha and Rameez! While we were out in San Francisco, we met up with our AMAZING couple to capture some images in their new hometown!

What an incredible opportunity for us… really a dream come true!… to be able to photograph Samantha and Rameez’s love with such a gorgeous backdrop! The day started with overcast skies and actually a little rain. Funny enough, they are currently in a drought, so rain was a little out of the norm. As everyone else welcomed the rain with open arms, we did our rain dances to keep the drops away! ;) Thankfully and AMAZINGly the rain stayed away for the afternoon and we even got a peek of sunshine! How gorgeous, right?!?

It was such a blessing to be in San Francisco and to have Samantha and Rameez make some of the most beautiful locations in the city look even more gorgeous!!! Thank you Samantha and Rameez for helping to make our stop in San Francisco so incredibly magical!

Old Town Alexandria Engagement Session – Molly and Joe

Ohh friends, we have some Old Town Alexandria Engagement Session goodness to share with you before you embark on this fabulous weekend! ;) We have been crazy busy over here getting everything together for the first journey of the AMAZING Life Together Road Trip! ;) So much excitement, so much planning, so much love! It is all magical… I am just not sure where we will be sleeping some nights while we are out and about- but everything will fall into place for sure!! ;) We are so excited about the opportunity to connect with so many AMAZING people… please check out the details over at AMAZING Life Together and be sure to nominate all of the AMAZING couples in your life!!

In the meantime, we are so excited because we get to introduce you to the AMAZING Molly and Joe! Molly and Joe just bought a new home together… how exciting, right?!?! They even invited us over before they officially moved in! What an honor! ;) It was so cool to see their new place and think about what an exciting adventure they are on together! We captured some photos in and around their home. It is so crazy to freeze this moment in their lives when they are making a big move, planning their wedding, and doing everything else that comes with both of those big life changes… you know, a bachelor and bachelorette party, furniture shopping, and so much more!

It is so cool to think that in a few years down the road when they are all settled into their home and lives together, they will be able to look back at that moment and remember when it all began! ;) We are so excited to share these photos with you all! Molly and Joe- thanks for such a fun afternoon in Old Town Alexandria! We loved it!

Washington DC Bridal Portrait Session – Becca

You never know who you are going to meet in line while standing out in the freezing cold waiting to have a book signed by John and Sherry of Young House Love! ;) If you follow along with us on Instagram (and if not, please do! ;) ), you know that we enjoy going to meet our favorite authors and AMAZING people who are doing incredible things in the world! Whether it be Gretchen Rubin, Alexis Ohanian, Chris Guillebeau or John and Sherry, we have had some AMAZING adventures getting to know these friends. (I say friends, but for full disclosure, they may not even remember us! ;) haha!)

Last year we found ourselves among thousands of people wrapped around a few Washington DC blocks in the freezing cold. We had no idea what we were in for, but it was definitely a fun adventure that is for sure! We started chatting with these two sweet girls who were just as excited about the fun adventure! A few months later, we received an email from Becca saying her friends met us in line at the Young House Love book signing! ;) SO MUCH FUN!

Becca got married in Arkansas in December and was making a big move to Atlanta! Before heading out, she wanted to make sure she captured some gorgeous Bridal portraits in DC! Becca spent a lot of time working on Capitol Hill and this was the perfect way to remember this fun time in her life! We were so excited to capture Becca’s Washington DC Bridal Portrait Session on Capitol Hill! Thanks so much to Becca (and her sister Ruthie!) for braving the chilly temps and having fun with us on The Hill!

Kirkland Manor Wedding Styled Shoot for Premier Bride Magazine

We have heard AMAZING things about the beauty of Kirkland Manor on the Eastern Shore, but we have never had the opportunity to explore it ourselves. When Sarah from Intrigue Designs called us up and asked us to be a part of a styled shoot she was designing for Premier Bride Maryland Magazine, we couldn’t resist! Now, more than ever, we dream of photographing a Kirkland Manor Wedding! and if it looks just like this, even better! ;) Sarah, thank you for making our dreams really really pretty! ;)

To be completely honest, when we arrived at the Kirkland Manor, we were a little nervous. We were told over and over again that EVERYONE had high hopes for this shoot! They wanted “wow” and it was up to us to capture that wow. The editor escorted us down to the “Plan C” location of the reception table and we pretty much skipped the whole way there with excitement because we could see Sarah and her team working their magic from afar. It was such a windy day on the Eastern Shore- and actually quite chilly! They had to move the table around multiple times due to the crazy winds. But no one panicked- in fact, I believe we all agreed after the fact that the “Plan C” location of the table was absolutely perfect and even better than anyone imagined! Love when that happens! ;)

As soon as we saw Sarah and her team’s design, all of our nerves went away! The tablescape, ceremony set-up, and lounge cocktail hour setup were absolutely breathtaking! Every single detail went above and beyond (including the AMAZING paper designed by 2 Hands Studio)!!! We were as confident as ever that we could provide the editors at Premier Bride Maryland Magazine with WOW because that is all that we could see! ;)

It was such an honor to be a part of such a gorgeous shoot! Thank you Sarah and the whole team at Intrigue for working your magic and allowing us to capture it! Definitely go pick up your copy of Premier Bride Maryland Magazine… I think you might find some WOW in there! ;)
