Eastern Shore Wedding Photos: Laura and Richie’s Trash the Dress Session

Laura and Richie are two of the most adventurous people we know! Their energy and zest for life is contagious and we love them! ;) Laura has dreamed of jumping off a pier in a wedding dress since she was little! From the very first time we met her, she mentioned she wanted to do this and we pretty much jumped up and down with excitement right along with her!

It is always so funny to talk to people about Trash the Dress Sessions (or as we prefer to call them, Love the Dress Sessions! ;) ). Some people love them and think it is the coolest thing in the world and others pretty much can’t imagine the thought of getting that white dress dirty! lol. It is so funny because people are definitely opinionated about the topic! ;) When it comes to photography, we LOVE the idea of having something completely unique to enjoy for the rest of your life that will always be a reminder of that adventurous side of you!

Laura’s mom didn’t want to see Laura “trash” her dress… so she offered her own. She pulled her wedding dress out of a box and had Laura try it on. It fit PERFECTly! ;) With a few alterations (you know… to take off the puffy sleeves and the high neckline! ;) ) this dress was so perfect. It was such a joy to watch Laura come down those steps of Brittland Manor the day after the wedding in her mom’s dress and seeing her mom’s reaction! It was perfect! You could tell it was an honor for Laura to wear it and an honor for her mom to see her in it! Whether she was jumping in the water with it or not… in the eyes of Laura’s mom, it was better than her dress still sitting in that box! ;)

Side note… I must say, we have now had two couples jump in the water with wedding dresses on and every time they seem to come out cleaner than when they went in! ;) Just wanted to throw that out there! ;)

However you feel about the “Trash the Dress” idea, hopefully you can look at these photos and share the excitement that Laura and Richie have! These are definitely “them” and we are so excited and honored to have been able to capture this adventure with them! ;)

Ryan had planned to stand in the water as far out as he could go to get that shot from the front! ;) We are all so thankful for that kayak! ;)

Woodlawn Estate Wedding | Heidi and Tristan’s Love Story

If you have been following along on the blog for awhile, you may remember Heidi and Tristan as the couple who just barely got their Watch Hill, RI engagement session in before Hurricane Sandy hit in October. They joked with us that they bring on the crazy weather and attract hurricanes! ;) So, we really shouldn’t have been surprised when we heard the forecast for their wedding day and it involved the first tropical storm of the season. lol. Of course. ;) As we made our way down to St. Mary’s for their GORGEOUS Woodlawn Estate Wedding, we watched the radar carefully and said our prayers that the 5 inches of rain they had on Friday would be enough and the remaining storms would miss us.

While we were setting up the photobooth under the tent, we saw Tristan, his brother and dad walking towards us. Umbrella in hand, just in case. About two minutes later, the torrential downpour started…. and it did not let up until just a few minutes before Heidi and Tristan’s first look. The rain came and went… just stopping in to make itself known and give Heidi and Tristan all the luck in the world for a super happy marriage ahead! ;)

Everyone loves a little good luck here and there… but we are pretty sure that Heidi and Tristan have so much more than luck in their favor! They are two beautiful people who are so ready for this next chapter in their love story! We have no doubt, their days ahead are just going to get brighter and brighter!

Heidi and Tristan… thank you so so so much for the opportunity to be a part of this AMAZING time in your lives and capture your beautiful love story! You two are blessings in our lives and we are so excited to celebrate your love story as it continues to flourish! We love you guys!

Annapolis Boat Engagement Session | Lesley and Clayton

Okay… we say this a lot. But, we are so incredibly blessed by the clients/friends that come into our lives through our photography business! When we finished up Lesley and Clayton’s AMAZING engagement session, we were pretty much without words. There were multiple moments while we were shooting that we verbally said, “WOW! We are on a boat right now!?! Is this real?!?”

Lesley and Clayton’s engagement session was like a dream for us! Since our very first meeting with them, they shared their love for hanging out on Lesley’s family’s boat. This boat has incredibly special meaning to them and we could just tell it had a special place in their hearts. As soon as they mentioned Flying Angel, we knew we had to do their engagement session on the boat!

We started the evening with some photos in Federal Hill, just steps from their current residence. Then we made our way down to Lesley’s childhood home in Annapolis for the start of their Annapolis Boat Engagement Session. As soon as we made our way down to the boat, Lesley and Clayton both lit up. The comfort and excitement they share when they are on Flying Angel is so great to witness! Here we were jumping all over the boat (lol… seriously, I am sure it was a site to see!) doing everything we could not to fall in… and they were calm as calm can be! ;) We had a blast with them out on that boat and are so grateful to have had the opportunity to capture these photos that I know they will cherish now and forever! ;)

Lesley and Clayton- we love you guys! Thanks for being so adventurous with us and sharing your beautiful hang out with us! And HUGE HUGE thanks to Lesley’s mom and Nick for being our fearless drivers and navigating the gorgeous waters of Annapolis on sail boat racing day! Can’t wait to see you all again soon!

 

Anniversary Photography Session | Lisa and Andy

Anniversary Photography Sessions have become one of our favorite things to photograph! As our 6 year wedding anniversary fast approaches, (WAHOOOO!!!), we recognize the importance of celebrating the everyday moments and realize that the best days of our lives are right now… this day of our lives! With the hype and excitement surrounding weddings, it is hard to even imagine the days getting better… but they certainly have the ability to do just that!

Lisa and Andy contacted us months ago to set up a photography session to celebrate their 3 year anniversary! We could not have been more excited! They shared with us that work and school had them living in two different states for an extended period of time and they wanted to celebrate their reuniting! Umm, yes! This was definitely a much deserved celebration for them! Having the opportunity to spend a few hours with them and capture this AMAZING time in their lives was such an honor! Anniversary Sessions are the perfect way to reconnect and enjoy just being together! How often do we get the chance in our everyday crazy lives to do that?!?! We have to make it a priority and we are so grateful that Lisa and Andy did!

Lisa and Andy… thank you so much for taking the time to celebrate your love! ;) You guys captured our hearts with your love of football and connections to Central PA! ;) (Crazy enough, we found out that Andy grew up about 30 minutes down the road from us in PA! Small world! ;) ) Thanks for having so much fun with us! We wish you nothing but the best and many many more years of celebrating that AMAZING love you share! ;)

 

 

Weekend Wedding Photography: Kait and Adam’s Fusion Video

We gathered into a room full of smiling faces, happy conversation, good tasting food, and, of course, tasty beverages. We have learned that this seems to be just the way Kait and Adam’s family does things!… which might just be one of the many reasons we love them so much! ;)

We were so excited to see them again, just a little over a week since Kait and Adam’s wedding! It was time for them to finally see ALL of their photos from their wedding weekend and we could not wait to share them… most especially their fusion video!

The fusion video has become something that we absolutely love creating with our couples who include it in their weekend wedding photography collection. For Kait and Adam, we gathered on Friday for a quiet morning just 24 hours before their wedding day began! The day was full of fun activities ahead. Kait had a Bridal Luncheon… or Champagne as it has more appropriately been referred to as! ;) and Adam was on his way to a Dogfish Head Brewery Tour with about 20 of the guys he is closest to in his life! How fun is that?!? After their daytime activities, they had their rehearsal and rehearsal dinner… and everything else that comes with it being the day before their wedding! It was so much fun to sit down with them and hear all about their emotions at that very moment! At the end of editing the video and hearing their words a million times over and over again, I finally took some time to sit and back and watch it all the way through. As tears filled my eyes, I knew this was something that Kait and Adam and their families (including generations to come) would cherish forever!

What a sweet evening last night was for us! Not only were we surrounded by our new extended family members ;), we were able to give them something that will forever bring them back to Kait and Adam’s AMAZING wedding festivities and emotions of where it all began!

Kait and Adam (and really the whole family!!) – we love you. ;) Thank you for sharing your hearts with us! Marianne, thank you for your AMAZING hospitality (as always!)! We joked that we should make this a weekly gathering, but maybe we weren’t really joking!? ;) See you next week?!?! ;)
