New Jersey Wedding | Sarah and Joe’s Love Story

In his brand new plaid shirt and nervous, yet excited, smile, Joe sat in our living room just a few days before leaving for their New Jersey wedding and poured his heart out to Sarah in front of the video camera. When his months-long search for the perfect card came up short, he contacted us to see if he could create a video message for Sarah to give to her on their wedding day! (WOW, right!?!?!) He wanted to be able to share his heart with her on their special day and he knew this was the perfect way to do it.

As Sarah opened her gift, to find Joe’s iPad with his face smiling back at her, her smile could not have been bigger! Joe shared his emotions that he felt on the day he was first able to say I Love You to Sarah! It happened to be the day of Sarah’s sister’s wedding… and as Joe watched Sarah walk down the aisle, he knew his heart had fallen in love. He knew at that moment that the “next time she walks down the aisle [he] want[ed] to be the guy at the end of it waiting for her.” Just a few short years later, his dream was about to come true! Sarah would soon be the one in the white dress walking towards Joe. And as beautiful as he thought she was then (which he described as the most beautiful he had ever seen her)… it could not compare to how beautiful she looked on Saturday!

Sarah and Joe’s day was full of so much love and emotion. They had worked so hard to make their day everything they dreamed it to be… and we can pretty confidently say, it was probably better than they even imagined it! ;) Sarah and Joe- it was such an honor to be there to capture your special day and this incredible time of your lives! We are so excited for you to begin this next chapter in your love story! Congratulations!

Special shout out to the fabulous Carly (Joe’s cousin) and Bobby who originally sent Sarah and Joe our way! It is always so much fun to see past clients/now friends and their families as guests at other weddings! They always bring a huge smile to our faces! Thanks Carly and Bobby for introducing us to Sarah and Joe! We can’t wait to see you again in August!!! ;)

Eastern Shore Wedding Photos: Laura and Richie’s Trash the Dress Session

Laura and Richie are two of the most adventurous people we know! Their energy and zest for life is contagious and we love them! ;) Laura has dreamed of jumping off a pier in a wedding dress since she was little! From the very first time we met her, she mentioned she wanted to do this and we pretty much jumped up and down with excitement right along with her!

It is always so funny to talk to people about Trash the Dress Sessions (or as we prefer to call them, Love the Dress Sessions! ;) ). Some people love them and think it is the coolest thing in the world and others pretty much can’t imagine the thought of getting that white dress dirty! lol. It is so funny because people are definitely opinionated about the topic! ;) When it comes to photography, we LOVE the idea of having something completely unique to enjoy for the rest of your life that will always be a reminder of that adventurous side of you!

Laura’s mom didn’t want to see Laura “trash” her dress… so she offered her own. She pulled her wedding dress out of a box and had Laura try it on. It fit PERFECTly! ;) With a few alterations (you know… to take off the puffy sleeves and the high neckline! ;) ) this dress was so perfect. It was such a joy to watch Laura come down those steps of Brittland Manor the day after the wedding in her mom’s dress and seeing her mom’s reaction! It was perfect! You could tell it was an honor for Laura to wear it and an honor for her mom to see her in it! Whether she was jumping in the water with it or not… in the eyes of Laura’s mom, it was better than her dress still sitting in that box! ;)

Side note… I must say, we have now had two couples jump in the water with wedding dresses on and every time they seem to come out cleaner than when they went in! ;) Just wanted to throw that out there! ;)

However you feel about the “Trash the Dress” idea, hopefully you can look at these photos and share the excitement that Laura and Richie have! These are definitely “them” and we are so excited and honored to have been able to capture this adventure with them! ;)

 

Just a few of the behind the scenes from Laura and Richie’s Trash the Dress… or should we say, “Love the Dress!?” ;) HUGE thanks to Laura’s Aunt and Uncle for allowing us to use their kayaks! Ryan had planned to stand in the water as far out as he could go to get that shot from the front! ;) We are all so thankful for that kayak! ;)

Woodlawn Estate Wedding | Heidi and Tristan’s Love Story

If you have been following along on the blog for awhile, you may remember Heidi and Tristan as the couple who just barely got their Watch Hill, RI engagement session in before Hurricane Sandy hit in October. They joked with us that they bring on the crazy weather and attract hurricanes! ;) So, we really shouldn’t have been surprised when we heard the forecast for their wedding day and it involved the first tropical storm of the season. lol. Of course. ;) As we made our way down to St. Mary’s for their GORGEOUS Woodlawn Estate Wedding, we watched the radar carefully and said our prayers that the 5 inches of rain they had on Friday would be enough and the remaining storms would miss us.

While we were setting up the photobooth under the tent, we saw Tristan, his brother and dad walking towards us. Umbrella in hand, just in case. About two minutes later, the torrential downpour started…. and it did not let up until just a few minutes before Heidi and Tristan’s first look. The rain came and went… just stopping in to make itself known and give Heidi and Tristan all the luck in the world for a super happy marriage ahead! ;)

Everyone loves a little good luck here and there… but we are pretty sure that Heidi and Tristan have so much more than luck in their favor! They are two beautiful people who are so ready for this next chapter in their love story! We have no doubt, their days ahead are just going to get brighter and brighter!

Heidi and Tristan… thank you so so so much for the opportunity to be a part of this AMAZING time in your lives and capture your beautiful love story! You two are blessings in our lives and we are so excited to celebrate your love story as it continues to flourish! We love you guys!

Weekend Wedding Photography: Kait and Adam’s Fusion Video

We gathered into a room full of smiling faces, happy conversation, good tasting food, and, of course, tasty beverages. We have learned that this seems to be just the way Kait and Adam’s family does things!… which might just be one of the many reasons we love them so much! ;)

We were so excited to see them again, just a little over a week since Kait and Adam’s wedding! It was time for them to finally see ALL of their photos from their wedding weekend and we could not wait to share them… most especially their fusion video!

The fusion video has become something that we absolutely love creating with our couples who include it in their weekend wedding photography collection. For Kait and Adam, we gathered on Friday for a quiet morning just 24 hours before their wedding day began! The day was full of fun activities ahead. Kait had a Bridal Luncheon… or Champagne as it has more appropriately been referred to as! ;) and Adam was on his way to a Dogfish Head Brewery Tour with about 20 of the guys he is closest to in his life! How fun is that?!? After their daytime activities, they had their rehearsal and rehearsal dinner… and everything else that comes with it being the day before their wedding! It was so much fun to sit down with them and hear all about their emotions at that very moment! At the end of editing the video and hearing their words a million times over and over again, I finally took some time to sit and back and watch it all the way through. As tears filled my eyes, I knew this was something that Kait and Adam and their families (including generations to come) would cherish forever!

What a sweet evening last night was for us! Not only were we surrounded by our new extended family members ;), we were able to give them something that will forever bring them back to Kait and Adam’s AMAZING wedding festivities and emotions of where it all began!

Kait and Adam (and really the whole family!!) – we love you. ;) Thank you for sharing your hearts with us! Marianne, thank you for your AMAZING hospitality (as always!)! We joked that we should make this a weekly gathering, but maybe we weren’t really joking!? ;) See you next week?!?! ;)

Brittland Estates Wedding | Laura and Richie’s Love Story

As we drove up the beautiful driveway, we were greeted by signs welcoming us to their special day. Every couple of feet was a new sign… leading us to the final two that read, “this is where our story begins.” Before we even reached the Brittland Manor for this stunning Brittland Estates Wedding, we knew we were in for a treat!

The reality is, Laura and Richie’s love story began a really long time ago! They grew up going to the same school and even found themselves hand in hand as they walked through their High School hallways together! Over the years, life has taken them in different directions, but their AMAZING friendship always brought their hearts back together. They have been through so many ups and downs… but as Laura says… the number of ups is far greater than the number of downs! They realized over the years that their hearts are much better together than apart!

We, along with over 200 of their family and friends who celebrated with them over the weekend, could not agree more! What a gorgeous wedding to help Laura and Richie kick off this next adventure in their Love Story together!

Laura and Richie… thank you so so so much for the opportunity to capture this special day (and day after!! ;)… more to come soon!!!!) for you! Every single detail you two put together for your day seriously blew our minds! We LOVED everything!!!… but most especially, we loved seeing your happiness and excitement for this day to FINALLY be here!! Richie… your shouts of excitement that came out after your ceremony made our hearts smile BIG!! Congratulations you two! You and your families will always hold a special place in our hearts!

Side note… Brittland Manor is absolutely stunning! As we got out of the car when we arrived… I definitely said to Ryan, “I want to live here!” ;) It is magical!
